Thank you to all of you for your continued support, thoughts and prayers as we face the impact of the Glass Fire. We will be updating this page as more information comes in from our member wineries regarding their status and the damage caused.
If you wish to support them please head over to their websites. A large number of them hold a certain amount of wine off-site and are still able to process wine orders.
Domaine Charbay
Firefighters held the fire back at Charbay as the fire took over the hill behind the winery. Two equipment storage containers were lost but the winery is untouched so far. The unpredictable burning embers are what we are keeping an eye on.

Flying Lady
Flying Lady is the Spirit of Adventure, historically beloved for serving as an icon on the bows of beautiful ships representing good fortune to sailors with her beautiful hair blowing in the wind and arms flying free. She then gained more contemporary affection when Rolls Royce recast her on the hood of their automobiles as the Spirit of Ecstasy (being known for both identities). She then furthered her journey as nose art on the WWII aircraft protecting our brave pilots at war. Today, I was blessed with the opportunity to trademark her legacy (and also acquire www.flyinglady.com) and we honor her deep history by striving to make the highest quality Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon utilizing premium vineyards.
While the fire destroyed our winery, which we had just finished renovating, we will rebuild, with our flying lady also becoming a phoenix rising from the ashes. Maybe a spiritual message in these times doesn’t hurt. “What’s your adventure” is our motto and that will drive us in our next phase and journey. We had an incredible outreach when people learned of the fire and for that, we are truly blessed and grateful. It picked me up as the founder and got me invigorated to push forward and rebuild her. We are lucky to have partners like Fritz Maytag and York Creek Vineyards where we buy our fruit, our next-door neighbor, a wonderful friend and other wonderful people in this wonderful community. I’m from Colorado and this is our fourth year of creating Flying Lady and Spring Mountain is already a home I can’t say enough about how much we love it.

We are safe but we have lost 50% of our Vineyards, most of our forest land, all of our outbuildings and all of our landscaping. But guess what? We still have our house and guest house. We are so sad to see such destruction. I have tears in my eyes writing this but Carolyn and I are strong and we will get up from this and come back even better.
Our neighbour, Duane Houff of Fantesca, is our hero! He was the one that saw the embers falling on our house and got a crew there. This is what our Mountain is about! Spring Mountain strong!!! My heart goes out to all those who were not so lucky but we are all here to help each other.

Sunday evening, the first embers blowing from the Glass Fire reached our property and burned rapidly through our landscape before moving into other areas of Spring Mountain. Our main home and guest home remain standing, but all other structures on the property were lost and our vineyard sustained damage. Thankfully, all members of our team are safe. Our thoughts are with our neighbors and friends who have also suffered losses and remain under ongoing threat from nearby spot fires.
We are deeply grateful for the support so many of you have shown in recent days, reaching out with stories from your visits and sending pictures of the beauty we all came to know and love. In the coming weeks we know these pictures and memories of the good times we shared together will sustain us through the challenging path forward. Our 2019 vintage remains safe in barrel offsite and our other inventory is also safely warehoused in South Napa. We count our blessings that our wines will continue to be shared.
Many of you await shipment of our recent allocation. Rest assured we are working to safely ship your wines as soon as possible. We anticipate the earliest date we will resume shipping is Monday, October 12th. Shipping to southern states such as FL, GA, TX, will begin in early November.
Tonight, we hope you raise a glass of Sarocka wine, send positive thoughts to Spring Mountain and the entire Napa Valley as these fires rage on, and share a story of your favorite memory of Sarocka. May we all look back with smiles, remembering the hawks flying above our vineyard, the roses tended with loving care, the scent of lavender drifting up to the terrace, and a leisurely afternoon admiring the stunning view while enjoying great wines.

After hours of preparing for and then battling the wildfire, we are so happy and thankful to say that all of our buildings were saved. All thanks to God and to the unstoppable crew of firefighters who were by our side.

Terra Valentine
As you probably know, a devastating forest fire is ravaging the Napa Valley and many people have lost their homes and businesses. Sadly, these fires have also affected Terra Valentine. On Sunday night, a large fire ignited by embers blowing from the other side of the valley spread to our area and burned rapidly through our 112 acre Spring Summit Ranch. Courageous firefighters valiantly defended the Lookout House as the fire raged through, but the fire burned back during the second night and the house was lost early Tuesday morning.
We have had many amazing days there enjoying wine on the deck basking in the expansive views sharing laughter and stories with our old friends and with new friends. These times will not be forgotten and will guide us as we breath new life into that special place so that we can once again enjoy a great bottle of wine with great people at Spring Summit Ranch.
Fortunately, our barrels of wine from the 2019 vintage and our bottled wines from previous vintages are resting safely in remote locations outside of harms way. While the vineyards on Spring Mountain and around the region will mostly be unharmed by the fire, the grapes that we had planned to harvest this fall will not be made into wine.
Many of our neighbors have also lost homes and wineries and our hearts are with them as we all collectively mourn and hold on to the threads of hope for the future of our mountain community. As we go through these difficult times, we are overwhelmingly lifted by all of the love and support that you have poured out to us and we want you to know that it means so much to us.
We have spent the last 5 years pouring our love and dedication into that estate and we know that the best of times still lie ahead. This journey will not be easy and it will be only because of the loyal support of all of you, our friends and family, and the collective Napa Valley community that we will get through this. So tonight, raise a glass of Terra Valentine wine, send good thoughts to Spring Mountain and the Napa Valley as these fires rage on, and if you were one of the lucky ones to have enjoyed time at the Lookout House, remember it and let it bring a smile to your face.
