As of January 1, when driving on Spring Mountain Road and continuing on to St. Helena Road towards Sonoma County, you will encounter work going on along the road.

The Conservation Corps North Bay will be working on St. Helena Road from the Napa County line to the intersection with Calistoga Road.

Traffic warning signs will be out during this project, and there may be places where traffic is directed into one lane.

The work will run from 8:00 am through 3:00 pm.

The project involves the removal of dead or dying trees up to 12” in diameter, limbing up the remaining trees, chipping, and removing invasive species such as blackberries and broom. This work will significantly reduce fire risk and enhance the health of the forest.

Thank you for your patience while this work is being done and happy new year!
